About Me

For those of you who have been here in the past, this may be somewhat new to you. Let me start by saying that this site was previously run by my good buddy Tommy Lehmann (with some input from me every now and then).

Tommy has since found greener pastures and has developed some new interests to pursue. And he’s handed over this blog to me to own.

I wish him all the best!

And this is where I introduce myself. My name is Jeff Ramsey, but that’s more of my other persona. I’ll get to that in a bit.

I’m in my mid 30s and am really interested in having a healthy toned body with some great abs to boot. That is why I am taking over this site from Tommy.

My real name is Jusz Ramley and I’m from Malaysia. When I was studying in Australia, people over there just couldn’t remember my surname and kept calling me Mr. Ramsey.

With my new Aussie friends, I was Jeff, which is also a lot easier to remember than my real name. So that was how I became Jeff Ramsey. Over time, most people just accepted this as my name.

Why I Am Doing What I Am Doing?

The need to look good is natural in human beings, although it may be a greater need is some than in others. Let me share with you my story and how it all brought me to where I am today.

Growing up, I was often attracted to all the action heroes that I see in the movies. I believe it was when I was a kid of twelve that I was somewhat obsessed with movies starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. Boys will be boys and when I looked at those guys I was impressed with how tough they looked.

In my child’s mind I saw that these guys were big and strong, brave and heroic. Remember, these guys were bulky and large! They were menacing sure enough, as they needed to fight off bad guys. So I thought that when I grow up I should look just like them (I was twelve!).

My New Hero

Then, when I was about sixteen, I saw the movie Rapid Fire, and there I found my new hero, he was Bruce Lee’s son, Brandon, who also tragically died at a very young age. Here was this impressive looking guy with muscles in all the right places.

He was slim compared to Schwarzenegger and Stallone. Even though Brandon Lee had all these muscles in his arms he still had a lean physique. Now this is the look that I want!

So there I was trying to work out and hoping that I would eventually get a body just like Brandon Lee. At that time, I didn’t have any set training schedule. I went to the gym and did a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Well, surprise, surprise, I didn’t even come close to getting my dream body.

And Life Goes On….

Right after that life happened and I was busy with school and then college and I never really had time to get into any sort of exercising routine. A few years after that, I started working and had more time to watch movies again.

And guess what? Nowadays, I have seen more Hollywood leading men with the look that I’ve always wanted. These men have made it their trademarks to go around with have amazing abs and toned physiques. They have good looking muscles, and they don’t look bulky or unnaturally large.

Enlightenment

Now that I’ve seen all these possibilities, I know that there are ways to get this dream Hollywood body that I have wanted ever since I was a sixteen year old kid. It took me about twenty years to get here, but I’m glad that I have made this discovery. I can get the body of my dreams. You can too!

Here is my list of top ten Hollywood actors who have inspired me to realize my dream of getting the toned angular body that I’ve always wanted.

10. Jean-Claude Van Damme

Yes I admit. Jean-Claude is also one of my favorite actors from my childhood. He looks amazing even though he tends to be a bit on the bigger side.

9. Brad Pitt

Brad sported some amazing abs when he played Tyler Durden in Fight Club. This was the angular body that I took note of. However when he was in Troy, he had grown much larger as he had put on about 20 lbs. of muscle to play the character. Now he still has one of the better looking bodies in Hollywood.

8. Chris Evans

Chris looked great in Fantastic Four and made even more headlines as Captain America.

7. Ryan Reynolds

Ryan built up his body when he prepared for his role in Blade: Trinity. He looked great in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and was more recently seen as the Green Lantern.

6. Will Smith

Will was the lanky Fresh Prince, and has grown to play formidable roles with an impressive body to boot. He really made changes to his body for his roles in Ali and iRobot. And who can forget the pull ups he did in I Am Legend?

5. Mario Lopez

This guy has looked good since his Saved by The Bell years. Now he looks even better. He knows what it takes to keep his abs in shape, evident in the book which he wrote called Knockout Fitness.

4. Rain

This guy is a Korean actor if you must know.  If you haven’t watched Ninja Assassin, he just looked amazing in it.

3. Cam Gigandet

First saw him in Twilight (blame the wife) and later in The Roommate. This guy has great looking abs, and a nice angular face. He has the lean look down pat.

2. Taylor Lautner

Who doesn’t know the story of how skinny Taylor trained and sculpted his body to play Jacob the werewolf in New Moon? He is lucky to be young and so in shape. Hopefully he will stay this way.

1. Brandon Lee

My main man, Brandon will always be my hero. Not many will agree with me as he might not look as tough as my other 9 heroes above, but this was the guy that I looked up to when I was growing up.

This blog is for you Brandon.

How About You?

These are all positive motivators for me in my quest to get toned, lean and defined.

You could have some of your own heroes too, as long as you remember that these people may have different body types to yours; you shouldn’t copy their workouts blindly.

If you do want to adapt a celebrity’s workout, make sure that you both have similar built and body types.

So, share with me who are your top 10 heroes in the comment box below.

All The Best,
Jeff Ramsey
