Beef, pork and saturated fat are seen as the root of all evil, especially cardiovascular disease. If you try to lose weight with a diet like this you are most likely going to fail, because of the constant feeling of hunger. Low fat food and carbohydrates do not keep you full for more than an hour and half. After that you start graving for food. There is a healthier and a more effective diet available.
The concept of the low fat, high carbohydrate diet comes from the fifties and there are really no studies that indicate that it is the diet best suited for people. In fact according to studies a low carbohydrate, high fat and high protein diet is a lot better. It keeps you feeling fuller for a longer time and helps you lose fat rapidly. It does this by keeping the insulin levels low. So your blood sugar levels stay even for the whole day, instead of bouncing up and down when eating carbohydrates.
Carbohydrates have been linked with an increased risk of diabetes, cancer, heart disease and obesity. So why should you eat them? They are not a part of a healthy slimming diet, where as protein and fats are. For a long time people thought saturated fat is the cause of heart attacks, but a new study has shown that there is no link between saturated fat and cardiovascular disease. So there is no reason to fear fat. Try lowering you carbohydrate intake and increase the intake of fat and protein for four weeks. You will see tremendous differences in body composition, you will have more energy and you will feel better all round.
