The dangers of losing water weight

Many people have just a few pounds left to lose before reaching their weight loss goal right before a big event. Many of these people have done everything right including watching their diet and exercising properly to lose weight. However, when it comes to these last few pounds, they may hit a wall and turn to water loss to reach that final goal. Wrestlers are experts at losing water weight to make their weight classes. This often involves wearing sweat-suits and depriving your body of any moisture at all. The difference with wrestlers is they make weight and then rehydrate themselves. For ordinary individuals they may rapidly lose water weight over an extended period of time without re-hydrating which could be dangerous.

Using diuretics to lose weight rapidly can cause diarrhea which later could lead to constipation. Also, the sodium and potassium, which is deprived from your body, could lead to crapping in many muscles in your body and an overall feeling of being ill. Losing water weight is an easy way to shed some pounds; however, this often causes weight to return rapidly.

For proper weight loss, the weight should come off slowly. If you have an event planned you should start your weight loss well ahead of the event. If this is scheduled in 2 weeks then you need to make sure that you know how to lose weight in2 weeks. You need to have a plan in order to safely reach your weight loss goal. Even if the time frame will not allow for super results, you may still be able to lose weight quite rapidly just by following proper diet and exercise guidelines.

By cutting calories you can dramatically increase your weight loss. This does not mean totally cutting out everything that you can. Your body still needs nutrients from food to function properly. By starving yourself you will only cause yourself to feel sluggish and lazy. By eating several small meals throughout the day you will give your body the energy it needs to complete your day and squeeze in proper exercise.

Just adding a fast-paced walk each day will greatly accelerate your weight loss. If you work a full eight hour day, many people, with a one-hour lunch, will eat a small meal and use the rest of their hour to walk. Also, if the weather is bad outside, many community centers have indoor walking tracks, or many community centers with indoor basketball courts will allow walking on the perimeter of these courts. No matter where you get your exercise it is important to incorporate it in your weight loss.
